Academic Support
Every Centre that delivers our Courses and programmes will allocate a Personal Tutor to each student enrolled. The role of the tutor is to support, guide and counsel the student throughout the course and to monitor progression as well as highlighting any issues and problems they have seen. The Personal Tutor will also be responsible in helping their student create an effective Study Plan as well as a Personal Development Plan(PDP).
Our Academic Support covers five main areas:-
Our Commitment: We provide holistic, evidence-driven support to empower students in overcoming academic challenges and achieving excellence through tailored resources, technological innovation, and well-being initiatives.
Delivery Centre`s and Partnerships: Our Delivery Centre`s and Partnerships have been specifically picked to ensure that all LGE students receive the necessary academic support which they need.
Structured Scaffolding: Our support systems guide students through incremental challenges, enhancing conceptual mastery with lower stress than traditional study methods.
Attribution Training: Through our teaching we help students build resilient mindsets through skills analysing, problem solving, critical thinking as well as fostering adaptive study habits and goal-setting.

Language and Study Skills
LGE is committed in supporting students with their English language skills and study skills to enhance a students learning experience and to prepare students for university study.
In order to support students we do this through:-
Mode of Delivery: Teachers are expected to use a variety of modes of teaching, from teacher-led, student based, flipped teaching, as examples, to ensure there is diversity within the student`s educational learning.
Language of Assessment: This is an English based course programme, therefore all teaching materials, syllabus and all aspects of assessment will be in English.
The English Skills module provides students with the opportunity to develop their English skills not only to a competent level but to academic standards. You'll be introduced to academic reading and effective note-taking strategies. You'll develop your essay writing. You'll look at academic style and vocabulary-building strategies. You'll also enhance your understanding of sentence structure and punctuation. You will learn through a range of engaging activities aimed at extending your existing language skills.
The Research Skills module creates the bases of academic writing, research, analysing and critical thinking and builds confidence in your speaking for presentations and academic discussions. It also helps you to develop good studying skills with time management and planning and learn the best ways to take notes.
Personal Development Plan: Every student on an LGE course or programme will have a Personal Development Plan. This plan will look at the student`s strengths and weaknesses and work on building skills and attributes, with the student, as they map out their career inspiration, direction and ways for them to steer for attainment and successfully achieving their aims and goals.

Accommodation
At London Global Education our role is to guide students in selecting the right accommodation. Our support team will help navigate students through the options available for their location of studying.
At LGE we provide a clear overview of the main types of student accommodation and by/through these options it helps us to suggest possibilities to students in finding the best fit for their budget, lifestyle, and priorities. There are two types of categories for student accommodation; University/College Halls of Residence (Dorms) or Private Accommodation.
University/College Halls of Residence (Dorms)
University Halls of Residence
Types: Usually corridors or flats/apartments with shared kitchens and common areas.
Rooms can be single (standard), ensuite (private shower/toilet), or occasionally shared.
Pros: Convenient (on/near campus), strong social atmosphere (easy to meet people), bills usually
included, university support, furnished.
Cons: Can be more expensive than private renting, often less privacy, shared facilities, meal plans
(if offered) add cost, limited choice/lottery systems.
Private Accommodation
Private Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA):
Types: Modern buildings designed specifically for students. Offers similar room types to halls
(standard, ensuite, studios) but often with more amenities (gyms, cinemas, common rooms,
cafes). Cluster flats (several ensuite rooms sharing a kitchen) are very common.
Pros: Often high-quality facilities and amenities, bills included, furnished, good security, strong social
scene, located near campuses/cities.
Cons: Usually the most expensive option, contracts can be strict, potentially less independence than
private renting, can feel less personal than uni halls.
Private Rented Accommodation (Houses/Flats):
Types: Renting an entire house or a room (usually shared with other students - an "HMO" or House in
Multiple Occupation), a flat/apartment, or a studio. Can be found solo or in groups.
Pros: More independence and privacy, wider choice of location and property types, potentially
cheaper than PBSA/Premium Halls (especially sharing a house), experience managing a
household.
Cons: Bills usually not included (extra cost/responsibility), finding housemates/properties takes effort,
dealing with landlords/agencies, deposits/fees, furnishing may be required, responsibility for
maintenance/issues, potential isolation if not sharing.
Home-stay/Living with a Host Family
Types: Renting a room in a local family's home. Often includes some meals.
Pros: Cultural immersion, language practice (especially for international students), a supportive home
environment, bills/meals often included, furnished.
Cons: Less independence/privacy than other options, need to fit in with family routines and rules,
potentially less interaction with other students, location may be inconvenient.
Key Considerations When Choosing
Location: Proximity to campus, transport links, shops.
Cost: Rent, bills, deposits, food, travel. Budget carefully!
Social Preference: Do you want a bustling environment or peace and quiet?
Independence Level: How much responsibility do you want for bills, cooking, cleaning?
Facilities & Amenities: Ensuite, Gym, Laundry, Parking, Canteen
Contract Length: Typically 40-52 weeks for purpose-built options; often 6-12 months for private rentals.
It is important to note that in some universities or locations not all of these types of accommodation will be available.
