Level 3 Diploma in Pre-Undergraduate Foundation Studies
Entry Requirements
Our comprehensive Pre-Undergraduate Foundation Course, provides a robust academic pathway specifically designed to prepare international students for successful progression to top universities worldwide. LGE is dedicated to empowering students with the essential academic knowledge, critical thinking, and advanced study skills necessary to thrive in a global higher education environment.
Our Foundation Course follows a rigorous A-Level-based academic format, significantly enhanced with dedicated English language, research, and study skills development. This integrated approach ensures that students not only master their subject matter but also acquire the crucial soft skills vital for success abroad.
We are actively building our network of university partners, currently including institutions like the University of East Anglia & the University of York in the UK, and are now recognised by UCAS.
To be considered for enrollment in this impactful program, candidates must satisfy the following age, academic, and English language proficiency requirements:
Age Requirement: 17 (minimum)
Academic Requirements
- Completion of Senior High Year 2 with a minimum 80% overall, including 70% in Maths
- Successful completion of Senior High Year 3 with 75% or above and 70% in Maths Senior High Year 2
Candidates must meet one of the following English proficiency requirements:
- IELTS: 5.5 total score (no band less than 5.0 overall, with a minimum band 5.0 in Writing)
- IGCSE: Grades 9–5
- TOEFL (iBT): Overall 75 (with 18+ in Reading and Writing, 16+ in Speaking and Listening)
- Duolingo: Overall score of at least 95
- Pearson Test of English PTE (Academic): 46 overall (with 46 in both Reading and Writing)
- CEFR: Level B2
- GAOKAO: 100–150 points (English section)
Candidates achieving lower scores (e.g., IELTS 4.5 or 5.0) or IGCSE 4 may still enroll but must complete an IELTS course alongside the foundation programme to meet university requirements.
All teaching materials, assessments, and syllabi within the program are conducted entirely in English, preparing students for an English-speaking academic environment. Upon successful completion, the Pre-Undergraduate Foundation Course awards 120 credits, equivalent to 1,200 hours of nominal learning, signifying a comprehensive and intensive preparation. The program structure includes:

Guided Learning Hours
- Subject Modules: 180 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) per subject
- Foundation English Skills + Foundation Research Skills: 60 GLH combined
- Students must study 3 subjects alongside the Foundation English Skills and Foundation Research Skills modules, totaling 600 GLH for the programme.
